Short bioIn July 1985 Carol and her husband John Bielen, still living in New Jersey, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Their children, Bob and Florence Bielen, had arranged the celebration when they made an earlier trip to Garfield, NJ, in 1984. The California contingent of the family flew out in July 1985 to join in the festivities, including Robert and Peggy Bielen and their children Robert, Janet and Brian; Florence and Edward Reid with daughters Kathleen Reid, Christine Reid Palmer, Christine’s husband David Palmer and their daughter Kathleen Palmer (Caroline and John’s great-granddaughter), nearly 6 months old. A photo of the group at the anniversary is below.
Carol lived in Southern California near her son and daughter and their families until her death in 2004.
